Why do you do what you do?

I am passionate about creating something out of nothing. I love to hear people's stories and helping them making their vision become a reality whether it’s through photography or design. I love the fact that people can trust me with their vision and allow me to capture their happiest moments.

What inspired you to start your business?

I wanted to create and serve others in a memorable and happy way. With photography, I get to freeze perfect moments that means some much to my clients. They get to relive that moment of joy and happiness whenever they look at the photo.

I also love working with other creatives. I do many fashion photoshoots. I am constantly inspired when I get to work with a team of people who have a deep passion for what they do. It is beautiful to see when a makeup artist, hair stylist, model and a designer or brand come together to create a work of art. The feeling – it never gets old to me.

How did you start your business?

I started my business by starting. It may sound simple but that is what I did. I knew I wanted to become a photographer and a designer but I did not have the right equipment at the time. I did not even have a laptop. I started with what I had in my pocket, which was my iPhone 4. I remember going on a road trip to California with my family and I did not have a camera to capture that exciting experience. Therefore, I started taking photos with my iPhone 4. I downloaded about 10 different camera apps and photo editing apps. Although, I did not know much about photography or owned a professional camera at that time, I decided to start learning and practicing with what I had. Over time, I was able to save money to buy myself my first DSLR camera. It did not all happen overnight. It took me about 7 months to save enough money to get my first real camera and it was worth every penny. Then I started posting my pictures on Instagram and that helped me launched my business.

What advice would you give to other young, aspiring entrepreneurs?

Start where you are with what you have. Do not wait until you have everything all figured out. Do not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help when you need it.

Pray for guidance. Do not start something just because everyone is doing it. Create and build from a place of passion with and intent of serving others. If you are just creating for yourself, you will burn out eventually. Create something that others can enjoy, learn, or be inspired by.
